SCOPE

The International Conference on Innovations in Power and Advanced Computing Technologies, i-PACT-2017, Technically co-sponsored by IEEE. intends to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas amongst researchers, professionals, academicians, corporate & industry professionals, technically sound students and entrepreneurs in various disciplines across the globe to present the state of the art innovations in power and advanced computing technologies and point out the new trends in current research activities and emerging technologies. This event will take place in Vellore Institute of Technology University, Vellore on 21 & 22 April, 2017. Papers are encouraged on all topics given under the call for papers, to enable interdisciplinary discussions of new ideas, the latest research development, and the latest developments in the field of Electrical Power, Electronics, Nuclear and Computer Engineering. All the selected papers will be published in the IEEE Digital Explore library.

About School of Electrical Engineering

School of Electrical Engineering (SELECT) has 82 faculty members who have done their UG and PG degrees from the top-Notch universities. The faculty members of this school are consistently doing well in teaching and research .Faculty members and students of SELECT frequently get awards, prizes for outstanding research contributions in their respective fields. The School offers B.Tech. (Electrical and Electronics Engineering), B.Tech. (Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering), M.Tech. (Power Electronics and Drives) and M. Tech (Control and Automation), M.S. by Research and Ph.D. in Engineering. Both B.Tech. and M.Tech. courses attract the brightest students of the country and abroad every year. B.Tech. (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) and B.Tech. (Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering), is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. All UG & PG programmers of the school are accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), U.K. The placement record of the School has always been impressive. Almost 100% of the students get job from the campus placement and many of them are getting it in core companies every year. We encourage the students to do engineering projects during their B.Tech. and M.Tech. degrees. The School has state-of-the art laboratories in almost all the areas of Electrical, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering. The School has the latest simulation tools to cater to various specializations and is equipped with facilities for measurement, characterization and synthesis of experimental as well as theoretical results. Every year, students get scholarships to do their final year projects abroad under the Semester Abroad Program(SAP). The School has many industry sponsored advanced laboratories for doing research. Schneider Electric, India and NxP Semiconductors, India, have established Centre of Excellence for students R&D activities under the guidance of faculty members and Industry experts. Students regularly visit Industries and significant places for learning. The School has signed MoUs with many foreign Universities, research organizations and Industries from where students get benefits for their R&D Work / Projects from the MoUs.

About IEEE NPSS VIT

IEEE NPSS VIT joins the league of other prominent professional student chapters functioning at the university campus in the academic year 2014-15. Energy & relative terminologies govern the modernization of this gargantuan society. Nuclear and Plasma sciences which are at the top of several disciplines excavate the riches of renewable and non-renewable source of energy though there is ambiguity in the contradictory justification placed by researchers.Considering the vitality of these coordinates of science, this chapter attempts to create fundamental awareness among youths, uneducated & learned pillars of different forums. This herculean task is to be systematically approached through a series of methodologies evolved from the conclave of available research reports on energy. To convert this venture into a successful volume, the suggestions, feedback & valuable instructions are adopted from eminent personalities whose ideas converge on a pragmatic note.

HOW TO REACH VIT VELLORE CAMPUS

LOCATION

The VIT campus is located on a 370 acre site on the Ranipet – Katpadi Road. It is 21⁄2 hours drive from Chennai (Formerly Madras) by Road and 4 hours from Bangalore (considered the silicon valley of India). Both the cities are well connected by road, rail and air routes with all parts of the country and also have international airports.

The airport nearest to Vellore is in Chennai. From the airport, you can go to the bus stand at Koyambedu or to the Central Railway Station to take a bus or train to Vellore. Train and bus services to Vellore are frequent, cheap and quite satisfactory. Either journey takes about 21⁄2 hours. If you choose to travel by train, you should buy your ticket to Katpadi Railway Station which is just 3 km away from VIT. Buses from Chennai will bring you right to the centre of the town of Vellore from where you can reach VIT which is about 5 km from the bus stand.

TRANSPORTATION IN VELLORE

Auto Rickshaws (on share basis) are easily available from both Railway station and bus stand to Chitoor bus stop. Government Buses will fly between Chittoor bus stop to VIT. You could also hire exclusive auto rickshaws to reach VIT.
